Great Britain 1982 20 pence

This twenty pence, or one-fifth of a pound, was introduced in 1982 as a new denomination in the Great Britain decimal system. It was equal to 48 pence or four shillings in the old sterling system. It was struck in this style until 1985, when the bust of the queen was updated (KM 939).

Recorded mintage: 740,815,000 plus 106,800 proofs.

Specification: 5 g, copper-nickel, 21.4 mm diameter.
