This type was struck 1937-45 for Great Britain in competition with a brass threepence (KM 849). According to Numista, the issues of 1942-44 were all shipped to the British West Indies. The Maundy threepence (KM 850) used a different reverse.

Recorded mintage: 2,005,500 plus proofs.

Specifications: 1.41 g, 0.500 fine silver, 16 mm diameter, plain edge.
