This specimen was lot 74881 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, 1939. George VI. PCGS MS-65. The obverse of this piece is an attractive white argent hue with gold toning at the periphery. However, the reverse is stunning with its uniform layer of deep champagne to gold transitioning to lilac at the periphery. The only MS-65 example graded by PCGS with none finer.
