This specimen was lot 71273 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Florin, 1912. London Mint. George V. NGC MS-65. Tied with just two other examples for the finest certified in the NGC census, this mostly argent example exudes appeal through its great brilliance and subtle tone. Ex: Mildenhall Collection." The silver florin (two shillings) was struck in this fineness until 1920, when it was debased to 0.500 fine.
