This specimen was part of lot 37221 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), which sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Maundy Set (4 Pieces), 1879. London Mint. Victoria. All PCGS Certified. S-3916; KM-MDS-133 (for the set). All housed in older generation PCGS holders. 1) 4 Pence. PCGS MS-67. 2) 3 Pence. PCGS MS-66. 3) 2 Pence. PCGS MS-66. 4) Penny. PCGS MS-65." This type, KM 727, was struck 1838-87 for Maundy sets only tho this date is common.
