This specimen was lot 2347 in Goldberg sale 110 (Los Angeles, June 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Halfpenny, 1869. Victoria. Obverse: Wyon's young 'bun head' portrait of queen. Reverse: Britannia. Uncirculated with much mint red. One of the rarest dates of this popular series. Very rare in this grade. Cracked out from PCGS UNC Details - Cleaned holder." This type was struck 1860-74. It superseded the larger copper half penny heretofore issued. This is noted as a rare date despite the large mintage.
