This specimen was lot 31044 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria gold 1/2 Sovereign 1853 MS63 NGC, Royal mint. A few emerald pinpoints are observed atop the fully lustrous surfaces, while the central designs retain their as-struck crispness and handling marks remain at a minimum." This bust was used on the half sovereign, or ten shilling coin, 1838-85. This is a common date.
