This specimen was lot 33617 in Heritage sale 3114 (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $3,000. The lot description[1] noted, "Great Britain: George II 1/2 Crown 1751 MS63 NGC. An appreciable grade for the type, seeing only two examples rank finer at NGC. The eye-appeal is outstanding here, where original silhouetting creates a noticeable contrast with the aqua and mauve patina in the centers, all undergirded by active revolving luster." This type was struck 1746, 1750 and 1751 with the 1746 being a proof only date.
