This specimen was lot 40331 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, 1743. George II (1727-60). NGC MS-62. "SEPTIMO" on edge. Dusky gray toned in the obverse centers with vibrant multicolored coloration around the legends that carries over to the reverse, covering it in its entirety. A number of scattered marks that mostly blend into the obverse surfaces help to determine the assigned grade." This type was struck in 1743 and 1745; the succeeding type was the famous "LIMA" half crown.
