This specimen was lot 77421 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, ND (1645-46). London Mint; mm: Sun. Charles I. NGC AU-53." By 1645, Charles no longer controlled the Tower Mint and coins were made there under the authority of Parliament. Spink lists S-2763 thru S-2780 for the various half crowns of Charles I. This one is among the more common.
