Sincona sale 79, lot 1095

This specimen was lot 1095 in Sincona sale 79 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 11,000 CHF (about US$13,184 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, James I. 1603-1625. Spur ryal n. d. (1611-1612), Tower Mint. Second coinage. Mintmark mullet. Very rare. NGC UNC Details. Repaired flan crack." This coin had a face value of fifteen shillings at the time of issue, a value which later fluctuated (i.e., increased).
