Sincona sale 47, lot 2831

This specimen was lot 2831 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$390 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Grisons, Graubünden, Kanton, 5 Batzen 1820. FDC. (canton of Grisons/Graubunden, five batzen of 1820. Uncirculated.)"

This type was reissued in 1826. Five batzen was one-eighth of a thaler.

Reported Mintage: 50,000.
