Sincona sale 94, lot 1983

This specimen was lot 1983 in Sincona sale 94 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN Genua, Dogi Biennali, 1528-1797. Scudo stretto 1647, Genova. Sigle IBN. Gutes sehr schön. Feine Patina. (Italy, reublic of Genoa, biennial doges, 1528-1797, scudo stretto of 1647, Genoa mint, initials IBN. Good Very Fine, Nicely toned.)"

Altho this type was struck without change from 1637 to 1725, it does not turn up often. The SCWC incorrectly states the weight to be 19 g.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 38 g, 0.889 fine silver, this specimen 38.17 g.
