This specimen was lot 3465 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALY | Genova, Dogi Biennali, 1528-1797 2 Doppie 1616. Sehr selten. Vorzüglich. Kleiner Schrötlingsfehler. (reupublic of Genoa, biennial doges, 1528-1797, double doppia of 1616. Very rare, Extremely fine, Minor planchet defect.)"
This type was struck 1592-1637 but despite the extensive years of issue, this denomination is very rare today. Two doppie equaled four ducats.
