This specimen was lot 1350 in Jean Elsen sale 108 (Brussels, March 2011) where it sold for 1000 euros (about US$1,642.71 including buyer's fee). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIE, GENES, Dogi biennali (1528-1797), AV scudo d'oro (mezza doppia), 1555, Droit : Castel orné, une fleur au centre, au-dessus de la date. Revers : Croix ornée. Rare. Très Beau à Superbe. (Italy, Genoa, biennial doges, gold scudo d'oro (half doppia) of 1555. Obverse: ornate castle, flower in the center, date below; reverse: ornate cross. Rare, very fine to extremely fine)"
