Geneva 1709-IPD 2 quarts
This specimen was lot 4258 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$363 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 2 Quarts (1/2 Sol oder 6 Deniers) 1709, Genf. Silberabschlag. Mzz. I . P . D . Fast vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, two quarts or half sol of 1709, Geneva mint, struck in silver. About Extremely Fine.)"
This type was struck 1702, 1709, 1715. It has a low catalog value. Silver and gold strikes were made for presentation. One thaler was 96 sols and one sol was four quarts.
