Sincona sale 98, lot 4232

This specimen was lot 4232 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$218 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 3 Sols 1592, Genf. Jahreszahl im Schriftkreis. Mzz. C - G. Selten. Fast sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion UBS Gold & Numismatics 84, Basel, Januar 2010, Los 2023. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, three sols of 1592, Geneva mint. Rare, About Very Fine.)"

This type was struck nearly continuously 1554-94. Numista does not mention the mintmark clearly visible here. One thaler was 96 sols.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specifications: 4.0 g, billon, 26 mm diameter, this specimen 3.30 g.
