Sincona sale 68, lot 5276

This specimen was lot 5276 in Sincona sale 68 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 6,500 CHF (about US$8,557 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Geneva | Stadt und Kanton, Ecu pistolet 1568, Genf. Selten. Vorzüglich. (city and canton of Geneva, ecu pistolet of 1568, Geneva mint. Rare, Extremely fine.)"

Friedberg lists this obscure type for 1562-86 and notes that the last écu pistolet was struck in 1642.
