Sedwick sale 25, lot 1650

This specimen was lot 1250 in Sedwick sale 25 (Winter Park, FL, May 2018), where it sold for $1,041.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Gelderland, United Netherlands, rijksdaalder, 1620. Broad-flan XF with choice full legends and inner details, attractively toned." This type was issued 1606-25, 1629-31, 1643, 1649-59, 1662, 1674-76, 1680-83. Numerous mintmarks are recorded, including KM 16.1 (cross mintmark) struck 1606-31; KM 16.5 (diamond) 1608 only; KM 16.2 (lily) struck 1643, 1648-53; KM 16.3 (dog) struck 1652-59, 1662, 1674-76, 1680, 1683; KM 16.4 (lily/dog) struck 1652-56; KM 16.6 (dog/lily) struck 1665; KM 16a (mintmark knight on horse) struck 1699.
