Stack's Bowers April 2021 Hong Kong sale, lot 53088

This specimen was lot 53088 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Fukien. 1 Mace 4.4 Candareens (20 Cents), ND (1912). NGC MS-63. A lustrous Mint State example with even champagne color in the centers and flares of deeper multicolored tone around the outer edges. Ex: H. F. Bowker East Asia Collection." Although the Foochow mint struck numerous varieties of ten and twenty cents during the republic, no large denominations were issued.
