This specimen was lot 34021 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Friesland. Provincial 14 Stuivers (1/2 Florin) 1686 AU58 NGC. A fine type on the cusp of a coveted Mint State assignment, precluded from such by the presence of minimal highpoint rub to the sitter's buster. Almost exclusively witnessed in lesser preservations. From the Coenen Collection." This silver half florin of 14 stuivers was struck in Friesland 1684 and 1686 only. Its crude design caused it to be heavily counterfeited, hence many had a countermark applied in Holland, which verified their authenticity.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 8.65 g, 0.765 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM A8.2, Delm-1101, PW-Fr61.
