This specimen was struck for French Polynesia by the Paris mint, which issued this type 1965 only along with a fifty centimes and a two francs. A closely related type with "I.E.O.M." added to the obverse (KM 11) has been issued sporadically since 1975. French Polynesia is better known to English speakers as Tahiti.
Recorded mintage: 3,300,000.
