This specimen was lot 74788 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRENCH INDO-CHINA. Piastre, 1894-A. Paris Mint. NGC Unc Details--Environmental Damage. Despite the noted cleaning, this example as nice uncirculated details." This piastre is one of a type issued for French Indo-China during 1885-95.

Recorded mintage: 1,308,000, a common date.

Specification: 27.21 g, 0.900 fine silver, 37 mm diameter.
