Stack's Bowers October 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 74788

This specimen was lot 74788 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $456. The catalog description^[1] noted, "FRENCH INDO-CHINA. Piastre, 1894-A. Paris Mint. NGC Unc Details--Environmental Damage. Despite the noted cleaning, this example as nice uncirculated details." This piastre is one of a type issued for French Indo-China during 1885-95.
