France 1853-A 20 centimes
This specimen was lot 4736 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it sold for $690. The catalog description [2] noted, "France. 20 Centimes, 1853-A. Small head. Napoleon III. Spectacular sea green-red-yellow toned example. PCGS graded MS-67." This tiny coin, smaller than a half dime, was struck at Paris under the régime of Napoleon III (1852-70). It is a common date of a type struck 1853-59. It is the second type of its denomination, the first being the Cérès head of 1849-51. It was demonetized in 1869. The catalog[1] notes 16 dates for the type, some very rare.

Specification: 1 g, 0.900 fine silver, 15 mm diameter, reeded edge. It was designed by Jean-Jacques Barre, 1793-1855.
