Steve Album sale 55, lot 827

This specimen was lot 827 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE: Louis XVI, 1774-1790, AR 1/10 écu (12 sols), Montpellier, 1788-N, very lightly toned, rare date/mintmark, PCGS graded MS64. Second finest graded at PCGS." Despite the tiny mintage, this date counts as common. The Montpellier mint struck this denomination intermittently 1775-89.

Recorded mintage: 13,000.

Specifications: 2.948 g, 0.917 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, reeded edge.
