France 1752-Q 2 louis d'or
This specimen was lot 358 in Sincona sale 54 (Zürich, May 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[2] noted,
"Frankreich, konigreich, Louis XV. 1715-1774. 2 Louis dor au bandeau 1752 Q, Perpignan. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS64+. Prachtexemplar. (kingdom of France, Louis XV, 1715-74, double louis of the ribbon of 1752, Perpignan mint. Very rare, especially in this condition, Cabinet piece.)"
This type was struck 1742-73 in some numbers and the Perpignan mint issued this type 1743-59, 1763-73 but most issues were small. It was succeeded by the double louis d'or à la vieille tête.
