Flanders 1620 3 stuivers
This specimen was lot 1279 in Jean Elsen sale 163 (Brussels, November 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Albrecht en Isabella (1598-1621), AR 3 stuivers, 1620, Brugge. Vz/ Gebloemd kruis met in het hart een leeuw. Kz/ Gekroond wapenschild in een zespas. Zeldzaam. (county of Flanders, Albert and Isabella, 1598-1621, silver three stuivers of 1620, Bruges mint. Obverse: floriate cross with a lion at the center; reverse: crowned arms in a hexalobe. Rare, good Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1616-17 and 1620 and has a low catalog value. Despite this, this is the first we have posted. It was worth half an escalin or schelling.
