This specimen was lot 901 in Jean Elsen sale 112 (Brussels, March 2012) where it sold for €4,000 (about US$6,250 including buyer's fee). The catalog description[1] noted,

"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Brugge in opstand tegen Filips II (1583-1584), AV gouden leeuw (lion d'or), z.j. Droit : Zittende leeuw nue l. onder een gotisch baldakijn tussen twee gotische letters B-B. Revers : Leeuwenschild op een gebladerd kruis. Uit onze veiling 78, 20 maart 2004, 1201. Zeer Zeldzaam. Zeer Fraai à Prachtig." (County of Flanders, in rebellion against Philip II (1583-84), golden lion d'or, without date. Obverse: seated lion to left between two Gothic letters "B-B"; reverse: lion on arms over a floriate cross. From our sale 78, March 2004, lot 1201. Very rare, very fine to extremely fine.)

This coin was issued while the city of Antwerp was besieged by the Spanish general Alexander Farnese.
