The first specimen was lot 12017 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $588. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELGIUM. Flanders. Florin, ND (1499-1506). Bruges Mint. Philippe Le Beau (Philip the Fair) (1488-1506). Unevenly struck in center. VERY FINE. Ex: H.M. King Umberto of Italy Hans Schulman Nov. 1967 Lot #694." The second specimen was lot 510 in Jean Elsen sale 137 (Brussels, June 2018), where it sold for €500 (about US$696 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Philips de Schone (1482-1506), AV Philippusgoudgulden, z.j. (1499-1503), Brugge. 3e type. Interpunctie: op vz. en kz. Vz/ Staande heilige met een lang kruis en het Bourgondisch wapenschild voor zich houdend (met een lelie in 2e kwartier). Kz/ Gebloemd kruis met in het hart een lelie en in de hoeken twee kronen en twee lelies. Uiterst zeldzaam Is gemonteerd geweest. Ongepubliceerde variant. Zeer Fraai. (county of Flanders, Philip the Fair, 1482-1506, undated goldgulden of 1499-1503, Bruges mint, third type. Obverse: standing saint Philip with long cross supports the Burgundian arms; reverse: floriate cross with a lily in the center and two lilies and two crowns in the quarters. Very rare, has been mounted, unpublished variety, very fine.)"

This coin is variously catalogued as a goldgulden or a florin and was nominally equal to a ducat. It was issued during the reign of Philip the Fair, son of Maximilian of Austria, and served as the transition between Burgundian and Hapsburg rule.
