This specimen was lot 17734 in Heritage auction 354 (the Horwedel sale, Long Beach, CA, September 2004), where it sold for $2,185. The catalog description[1] noted, "Gardena, CA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 604 The First NB Ch. # (P)10453, Large notes only from this bank, the community's only issuer. Very Fine, nicer than the Colver specimen and indeed one of this highest grade examples known from here."

Very Fine-Extremely Fine, ex-Krakover sale lot 101."
The second specimen was lot 92305 in Stack's Bowers January 25, 2024 Collectors Choice Online Auction - U.S. Currency (Costa Mesa, CA, January 2024), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "Gardena, California. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 630. The First NB. Charter #10453. PMG Choice Fine 15. 1 of 7 $10 Plain Backs recorded on this comparatively uncommon Los Angeles county charter by the National Bank Note Census. PMG comments 'Trimmed.'"

The catalog description[1] noted, "Gardena, California. $20 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 656. The First NB. Charter #10453. PMG Very Fine 25. A nice example of this scarcer Los Angeles County bank which shows with good signatures and overall eye appeal."
