This specimen was lot 90051 in Stack's Bowers September 2018 Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Alhambra, California. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 626. The First NB. Charter #8490. PMG Choice Fine 15. A nice original example of this Alhambra, California $10 Plain Back note. Showing some folds and discoloration, this note is a perfect example of a well circulated, but scarce, California National bank note." This note was previously lot 17587 in Heritage auction 354 (the Horwedel sale) (Long Beach, September 2004), where it sold for $2,760.

This specimen was lot 10009 in Stack's Bowers August 2019 ANA - Session 4 - U.S. Currency (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "Exceptional Alhambra, CA $20, Alhambra, California. $20 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 652. The First NB. Charter #8490. PMG Choice Very Fine 35. One of Los Angeles Counties scarcest banks, with just six example known according to Track & Price. This note grades nearly two full grades higher than the second finest, a fine 15. It is seen with dark ink tones and sharp signatures. It last sold in a 2016 auction for $5,600. A must have for California collectors."
