This specimen was lot 74436 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "FINLAND. 25 Markkaa, 1978 K-N. Helsinki Mint. PCGS MS-68. Struck to commemorate the Lahti Ski Games. Glistening surfaces wreathed in a gentle ring of iridescent golds and reds." This skiing competition has been held in this Finnish town since 1923 and has been cancelled only three time. This NCLT, struck far in excess of demand, is common.
