This specimen was lot 70667 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "FINLAND. 10 Markkaa, 1881-S. Helsinki Mint. Alexander II or Alexander III of Russia. NGC MS-64. Offering near-Gem quality, this robust example dazzles with cartwheel brilliance and luster." This type is listed for 1879-82 and was struck to the standard of a French gold ten francs.
