This specimen was lot 74769 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $630. The catalog description[1] noted, "FINLAND. Penni, 1871. Alexander II of Russia. PCGS MS-65 Red Brown. The sole finest graded example." This type is listed for 1864-71 and was struck for Finland by the czarist administration. It is priced substantially higher than the later type (KM 1.2, with dentilated border) of 1872-76. Russian defeats in World War One enabled the Finns, who had long chafed under Russian rule, to declare independence.

Recorded mintage: 1,500,000.
