This specimen was lot 22457 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "ESTONIA. Kroon, 1933. NGC MS-64. Issued for the Tenth Singing Festival. Medium toning with no distracting marks." The specimen shown is an example of a type struck for Estonia in 1933. Estonia, long occupied by Czarist Russia, obtained her independence in the aftermath of World War One. Reoccupied by the Russians in 1940, she was subject to Soviet rule until 1991, when the collapse of the Communists allowed the Estonians to once again reclaim independence.
