Steve Album Auction 53, lot 2806

This specimen was lot 2806 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "ESTONIA (SWEDISH): Gustav II Adolf, 1621-1632, AR ore, Reval, 1623, a lovely mint state example, PCGS graded MS63." Eight öre was a mark; six marks was a riksdaler and ten marks was (roughly) a ducat in gold. Fiscal manipulations were frequent in Sweden during this period so equivalents are approximate. This type is listed for 1622-28. Peter the Great greatly desired possession of Estonia and occupied it in 1710; the Swedes formally ceded it to him in 1721. It remained Russian until after World War One.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, 21 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-2.
