This specimen was lot 75400 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 3 Pence, 1568/7. London Mint; mm: Coronet. Elizabeth I. PCGS AU-55. Overdate variety. Obverse: Crowned bust left; Reverse: Square-topped coat-of-arms over long cross fourchee. From the Richard August Collection." Shown on this hammered threepence of 1567-77 is mintmark 74 (coronet). The milled version is S-2605, last struck in 1564, which lacks the inner circle of pearls shown here.
