This specimen was lot 7173 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Groat, ND (1465-66). London Mint; mm: sun. Edward IV (first reign). PCGS AU-53. Light coinage, type VII. Obverse: Crowned facing bust, within tressure of nine arcs; inward-facing lis on seven cusps; quatrefoils to left and right; Reverse: Long cross pattee, with trefoil in each angle. Striking in form, this Groat has a rich dark tone over a very good strike that highlights the fine details very well. A small vestige of wear on the high elements. From the Runze Collection (purchased from Davisson's)." The groat was reduced from 60 grains to 48 grains in 1464 and struck in many varieties at London, Bristol, Coventry, Norwich and York.
