This specimen was struck for El Salvador by the Sherrit mint of Canada. This type was struck in various alloys 1988-99. Paradoxically, this coin has such a low catalog value that it is difficult to find. Dealers do not find it worthwhile to stock such items. This coin bears the portrait of José Matias Delgado, hero of the struggle for independence from Guatemala.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
