This centavo was minted for El Salvador 1921-72. The issues dated 1921, El Salvador 1925 10 centavos|1925]], 1940, 1951 and 1952 were produced at the San Francisco Mint. On the obverse of the coin is the image of Francisco Morazán, who defeated Guatemalan attempts to conquer Central America, thereby establishing Salvadoran independence.
