This twenty-five centavos was minted for El Salvador 1943-44. It is among the last silver coins issued for circulation there. On the obverse of the coin is the image of Francisco Morazán, who defeated Guatemalan attempts to conquer Central America, thereby establishing Salvadoran independence.
Recorded mintage: 1,000,000.
Specification: 0.900 fine silver, 7.5 g, .217 troy oz ASW, 29 mm diameter.
