The coin shown is a countermarked Spanish Colonial (Mexico City) 8 reales, dated 1773, with the word 'Misr' stamped obverse. It is unknown when this was done or for what reason. The specimen pictured was lot 457 in Auktionen Fruhwald #101, February 22, 2013, and did not sell. The description reads:

"Ägypten Allgemein 8 Reales 1773 FM, mit Gegenstempel von Mirs in Ägypten, vergl. KM Seite 296 ss/vz (Egypt, 1773 8 reales with counterstamp of 'Misr')"

Recorded mintage: unknown.
