Egypt AH 942 sultani
The first specimen was lot 2210 in Sincona sale 59 (Zürich, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"OSMANISCHES REICH, Sultani 942 H., Misr (Kairo). Titel und Name des Sultans als sultân Sulaymân shâh / ibn sultân Selîm shâh in zwei Zeilen, Segenswunsch, Münzstätte und Prägejahr darb fî / Misr / sana / 942, Rv. Titel dârib an-nadr... in drei Zeilen mit langgezogenen Buchstaben bâ in dârib, bâ in sâhib und das zurückgebogene yâ in fî. Selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Turkey, sultani of the year AH 942, Cairo mint. Obverse: title and name of the sultan with mintmark and date; reverse: three line blessing. Rare, Very fine-extremely fine.)"
The second specimen was lot 562 in Stephen Album sale 37 (Santa Rosa, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $285.60. The catalog description[2] noted, "OTTOMAN EMPIRE: Süleyman I, 1520-1566, AV sultani, Misr, AH942, VF, S, ex Gamal Amer Collection." This was struck soon after the conquest of Egypt by the Ottomans.
