This specimen was lot 72672 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISLAMIC KINGDOMS. Burji Mamluk. AV Dinar, AH 820 (1417). al-Qahira (Cairo) Mint. Shaykh Uways I. NGC MS-62. Despite some strike flatness, this piece retains strong details and shimmering luster throughout the flan." Friedberg does not list the gold coins of the Mamelukes, who preceded the Ottomans in Egypt.
