Ecuador 1847-GJ 2 reales

This specimen is one of a series struck 1847-52. It is scarce, but not rare, but its strong resemblance to a United States bust quarter of the years 1831-38 increases demand for it and it routinely yields over catalog value in auctions. All pre-decimal Ecuadorian coinage is hard to find and hotly pursued.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 5.5-6.05 g, 0.667 fine silver.
Catalog reference: KM 33.
