East Africa 1922 10 cents
This specimen was part of lot 42161 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "EAST AFRICA. Specimen Set (4 Pieces), 1922. George V. All PCGS Certified. 1) Shilling. Birmingham (Heaton) Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-61. KM-21. 2) 50 Cents. London Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-63. 3) 10 Cents. London Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-66 BN. 4) 5 Cents. London Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-66 RB. KM-18. Sold with box of issue. From the Richard Margolis Collection." In 1922, the coinage of East Africa was reformed; where it had been 100 cents = one florin, now 100 cents = one shilling. This bronze type, struck 1921-28 and 1933-36, was the first ten cents struck after the reform. All were struck in London.
