This specimen was lot 1272 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $156. East Africa was an administrative grouping of the British colonies of Kenya, Uganda and British Somaliland. Tanganyika was added in 1919 after it was seized from the Germans. This type is known from the London mint only and was struck 1921-28 and 1933-36. The coinage has been obsolete since the member colonies obtained independence in the early 1960's.
