This specimen was lot 74133 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. 25 Centavos, 1960. PCGS MS-65. A delightful Gem minor with ample luster and eye appeal. From the Richard Margolis Collection." The specimen shown was struck at Philadelphia for the Dominican Republic towards the end of the regime of Rafael Trujillo, among the more brutal of Latin America's long roll of bloodthirsty dictators. Soon after his assassination in 1961, the capital, which he had renamed Ciudad Trujillo, reverted to its former name, Santo Domingo. The type was struck intermittently 1937-61; this date is common.

Specification: 6.25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 24.1 mm diameter, reeded edge.
