This specimen was lot 42174 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Portuguese India. Diu. Pardao (300 Reis), 1859. Diu Mint. Pedro V. NGC AU-55." This one year type is fairly rare, especially in the condition shown here. In 1871, a new series of milled coinage, struck by the British for the Portuguese, was introduced and the old hammered coinage retired.
