This specimen was lot 2077 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it sold for $411.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "DEWAS SENIOR BRANCH: Victoria, 1857-1901, AE ¼ anna, 1888. Red Brown Unc." Dewas, now in Madya Pradesh in modern India, was a princely state divided into two parts, the junior branch ruling the northern part and the senior branch the southern. The SCWC notes twelfth and quarter annas were struck for both branches in 1888.

Recorded mintage: 484,000 (includes quarter annas struck for Dewas, junior branch).
